Through a shared focus on personhood and memory, Andrae Green and Cyle Warner trace how Caribbean subjects resist the structures meant to contain, reduce, and erase them. Green’s deliberately blurred and doubled figures refuse fixity, dismantling representational architectures, while Warner’s breeze-block forms build new narrative ones that address spatial and archival absence. Where Green unsettles, Warner constructs. Together, they rework the terms through which Caribbean subjectivity is seen.

Andrae Green (b. Kingston, Jamaica) draws from a childhood shaped by comics, faith, and resilience to build vivid, introspective worlds grounded in hope and imagination. Now based in Western Massachusetts, his paintings center on deliberately blurred and doubled figures that refuse fixity, fragmenting portraiture to depict a Caribbean reality through the lens of memory and lived experience.
Cyle Warner (b. New York, NY) is a Caribbean-American multidisciplinary artist whose practice is woven from the poetics of spatial relations. The work threads through the archival, the elemental, and the enduring—constructing conditions for space and object to become indexes for recall, and through that recall, recognition.
