Do you pay artists for their work? Unfortunately, due to our book sales still not being large enough, any profit we make goes directly to our nonprofit partners. However, we do value our artists and want to get them paid so with the release of the book we will also sell prints on behalf of the artists. Any prints sold will go directly to the artists, in our previous books this worked very well in getting artists paid.
Can I submit more than one project? Yes! However we will only choose 1 project per artist. We want to see your strongest body of work.
When will I be notified if I am selected for this issue? All selected artists will be notified by mid-May and a list of selected print artists will be emailed to ALL applicants. Photographers that are chosen for this issue may be asked to answer interview questions from our editorial team if the artist statement submitted is not suffice
Can I submit a collaborative project? Yes, you can submit a project that has been created by yourself and other artists. Please submit under the name that you would like to appear in print if you are selected.
Does the work have to be new and exclusive to Forgotten Lands? Not at all! Work submitted is allowed to have been exhibited elsewhere (non-exclusive to Forgotten Lands), ideally all work was completed within the last 2-3 years.
